Last month, I had an amazing opportunity to join Governor Quinn and Senators Raoul and Munoz on a trade mission to China.  During our week-long mission, we were able to broker several major deals to help the biotech industry in Illinois.  Those agreements included a memorandum of cooperation between the Illinois Science & Technology Coalition (ISTC), iBIO, and China-based Shanghai Bio Pharmaceutics Association (SBIA) to increase economic opportunities for both regions in the bio-technology field.   Also agreed was a $70 million deal in corn products between C&D, Inc. in Illinois and China’s Xiamen C&D, Inc. and a sister-schools agreement between Illinois’ schools and schools in the Zhejiang Province.
