Here he gives again. Samuel E. Love, a fourth grader, is holding a press conference 9:45 a.m., on his birthday, Friday, October 18, 2013, at the Beasley Academy Center, 5255 South State Street in Chicago, to announce his second annual toy drive this time for the flood/tornado victims of Oklahoma and Denver, Colorado.

“I am launching this drive to help the kids who were victims of the flash flood and the tornadoes that destroyed their homes and sometimes took their lives,” said the fourth grader. “My goal is to collect 2000 toys and give 1,000 to Oklahoma and 1,000 to the children in Denver. I want to make kids smile through tough times,” said Sam Love.

In announcing his second annual toy drive, Love said he would give details and locations where supporters can drop off their toys and gift cards for the Oklahoma and Denver children.

His plans are to bring the gifts to Oklahoma on Wednesday, December 18th, a week before Christmas. “I will be bringing toys and gift cards,” said the determined student.

Victor Love, Sam Love’s father, who is co-owner of Josephine’s Cooking Restaurant (formerly Captain Hardtimes), 436 E. 79th Street, is very proud of his son.  “In this day and time, I think it is awesome for a child to be concerned about bringing joy to other children at Christmas time.”

Last year, Sam Love, who received national attention, held a Hurricane Sandy toy drive where he collected more than 800 toys for New York children that were distributed by the Salvation Army.
