On April 15, the Illinois Senate’s Subcommittee on Community Youth Employment will begin a series of statewide hearings. State Senator Mattie Hunter (D-Chicago) and other elected officials will join state agencies in East St. Louis, Decatur, Rockford and Chicago.

The hearings will bring the conversation to the communities with the most need. Students and agencies will provide testimonies about the Summer Youth Employment Program and the need to create year long opportunities for students.

The hearings will take place on the following days:

• East St. Louis April 15, 2014, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Lessie Bates Davis Neighborhood House 1045 State Street, East St. Louis

• Decatur April 16, 2014, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Richland Community College 4175 East Mound, Decatur

• Rockford April 17, 2014, 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Rosencrance Griffin Williamson Campus 1601 University Drive, Rockford

• Chicago April 28, 2014, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Bilandic Building 160 North Lasalle, Chicago IL
