Northwestern Memorial HealthCare Medical Assistant Program

The Northwestern Memorial HealthCare Medical Assistant program prepares students for excellence in medical assisting careers by providing transformative learning experiences and access to the delivery of exemplary healthcare.

The 10-month program begins annually in September. Students attend approximately 9 months of didactic and laboratory instruction that embeds the foundational knowledge and skills required for clinical practice. The didactic component of the program is followed by a supervised 160-hour clinical externship. Program graduates are eligible for the Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification examination through the American Medical Technologists (AMT).
