Senator Hunter was awarded this week as "Champion for Senior Care" by the Health Care Council of Illinois. As Chair of the Senate Human Services Committee, Hunter has been an advocate for nursing home reform and quality senior care.

Hunter was presented the award by employees of International Village Nursing Home in her district while they visited the capitol to lobby against budget cuts to nursing home care.
