The NCBA Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP) is an employment training program sponsored by the United States Department of Labor. We serve 55 and older who meet the federal poverty guidelines and because of our program, our seniors attain financial self-sufficiency by gaining full or part-time employment. A thorough assessment is conducted by our counselors and we place them at a non-profit where they can train while being paid the minimum wage.
We are asking for your support to help us at the next level of our goal and that is to consider hiring our seniors. If you can hire them even at a part-time position, it would be a great assistance to them, and will also save your organization from incurring fringe benefit expenses. Additionally, you are helping the SCSEP meet many of its required goals as set forth by our Congress. We retrain the Veterans, people who are at risk for homelessness, the disabled, those who live in very rural areas, and many more.
Our seniors come with many skill sets and more importantly, they can be counted on for having a strong work ethic, are very reliable and have the kind of customer service skills that are difficult to find these days! The SCSEP has been administering this program for over 50 years and thanks to many major companies across the nation, we have found employment for over 100,000 seniors in every state in the United States to include Guam, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.
