On April 15, the Illinois Senate’s Subcommittee on Community Youth Employment will begin a series of statewide hearings. State Senator Mattie Hunter (D-Chicago) and other elected officials will join state agencies in East St. Louis, Decatur, Rockford and Chicago.
The hearings will bring the conversation to the communities with the most need. Students and agencies will provide testimonies about the Summer Youth Employment Program and the need to create year long opportunities for students.
